Know your paper before you print

Compare home paper, A0 and rolls for your full-size pattern sheet.

One sheet. Six ways to print.

Enter the width and height of one full-size pattern sheet. This estimates pages for a single large sheet, such as an A0 or stitched PDF. If your PDF is already tiled, use its page count and the designer’s assembly guide instead.

Free, before you use a sheet.

This calculator costs $0 and returns an estimate immediately. No file leaves your device. Printing costs depend on your printer or copy shop; paper and ink are separate.

Four tiles, one continuous sheet.

Our free stitching example includes the source tiles and the joined result. Inspect it before uploading your own pattern. It is a demonstration, not a customer testimonial.

Compare paper sizes

Default: one A0 sheet, 841 × 1189 mm. Maximum sheet edge: 3 metres. Changing units converts your dimensions.

Why the estimate can differ from your printer

We compare both sheet orientations without shrinking the pattern. Letter and Tabloid allow 6.35 mm margins on each edge; A4 and A0 allow 5 mm. Rolls allow 6 mm side margins and 25 mm at each end. Your printer or copy shop may require different margins.

A full A0 pattern can need more than one A0 sheet when the printer cannot print to the edge. Check with the shop before ordering. Roll lengths are rounded up to whole feet across all strips.

Overlap is the shared area used to line up and tape neighbouring pages. More overlap may mean more paper. This calculator does not inspect a PDF, verify scale, or create a print file.

Print one test square first

Use 100% or Actual size and measure the designer’s test square before printing the rest. Check the selected size layers and required pattern markings. An estimate cannot correct an incorrectly scaled source file.

Only have separate pattern tiles?

First check whether your purchase includes a copy-shop PDF. If it does, you may not need to stitch anything. Otherwise, see how supported tiles become one sheet and inspect a free proof before choosing a paid download. Printing is separate.
